Dog Breeds
Purchasing from a Breeder
What is a breeder?
How do I select a breeder?
What paper work do I need?
Should you buy your dog from a breeder?
If you have decided on a purebreed puppy then you will need a good breeder. Resoponsible dog breeders are committed to the health and well being of thier dogs and thier breeds. They work at improving thier dogs with each generation. They will also help with placement and be available as a resource in the coming years.
Finding a Responsible Breeder
That cute little puppy you see licking your feet may well grow into something quite different.

Watchdogs or Guard Dogs
Many dogs will act as guardians for your home. A watchdog is generally regarded as a dog that would alert you to a visitor.
A Guard dog may want to agressively approach the visitor.
One friend mentioned the very aggressive sounding and looking guard dog at a car yard took about 2 minutes to turn into friendly dog allowing itself to be patted.
